What is a journal club? A journal club is a group of individuals who regularly meet to critically discuss and evaluate recent articles from academic literature, fostering a collective effort to stay current with research and promote critical thinking.

If you have struggled to help your child or student with grammar or simply want to further your own knowledge of the structure of English syntax, this class is for you.

• The current picture of grammar in schools today

• Form & function

• Word study in grammar

• The meaning in punctuation

• Teaching SWI’s Four Questions Framework to students

• How to help students with scientifically investigating words

• Understanding common misconceptions and working through them

• What routines and visuals help students understand how words are spelled

• Using standards and curriculum materials to plan word study instruction
